The brief.
A brick-and-tile home in Ascot that had just finished a kitchen and bathroom renovation. The owners wanted the interior repainted to integrate the new spaces with the rest of the home, and to introduce a more contemporary palette across the walls, ceilings, and trim.
What we did.
Colour consultation. Two visits: one to walk the home and discuss palettes against the new flooring and cabinetry, one to test sample pots in actual lighting conditions.
Palette. Antique White USA on the main walls, deeper Tranquil Retreat (soft green-grey) on a feature wall and the front sitting room, Vivid White on the ceilings, Natural White on the trim. Warm, contemporary, and restrained.
Prep. Patched and sanded the wall surfaces, addressed minor movement cracks in the cornices with flexible filler, sanded picture rails and doors to remove decades of brush build-up.
Paint. Two-coat Wash & Wear on walls, Haymes Ultra-Premium on the trim and doors (better levelling for crisp detail). Anti-mould additive in the bathroom and laundry. Hardware removed, switch plates clean.
Hand-over. Final clean, fixtures back on, touch-up paint cans labelled.
Result.
The home now reads as a proper integration, with the renovated kitchen and bathroom sitting naturally against a warm, contemporary palette. The cornices and picture rails, in particular, look crisper than they have in years.
