A roof repaint that actually does something.
A bad roof paint job is paint slapped over dirt, lichen, and a tired substrate. It looks good for a season, then peels through the next summer's storms. We don't do bad roof paint jobs.
What we do differently.
- Clean first, properly. High-pressure plus chemical wash. Lichen and moss out, dust out, chalk out. The substrate has to be clean and sound before any primer goes on.
- Repair before painting. Broken or slipped tiles get re-set. Loose ridge caps re-bedded. Rust on metal sanded and treated. Painting over damage hides it; we'd rather fix it.
- Substrate-matched primer. Different primer for concrete tile, terracotta, Colorbond, oxidised metal. We don't run a generic system.
- UV-resistant topcoat. Brisbane sun is brutal. We spec a topcoat designed for it.
- Safe access. Roof work is harness-and-harness-point. We don't shortcut PPE.
When to repaint vs replace.
Sometimes the right answer is "don't paint, replace". We'll tell you straight if a roof is past the point where a repaint is worthwhile. Crumbling terracotta, heavily-rusted metal, or significant structural issues are all signs to talk to a roofer first.
